22 the Professional Engineer Summer 2014 Efforts to fast-track stormwater permitting move forward L egislation enacted by the 2013 General Assembly requires that a team of industry experts, engineers, environmental consultants, faculty and other interested stakeholders participate in developing minimum design criteria for stormwa- ter permitting. Te MDC team began meeting March 24 and will generally meet on the fourth Monday of every month for approximately 18 more months. Te purpose of the MDC Team is to meet the regulatory requirements associated with Session Law 2013-82 — House Bill 480. In summary, the law tasks this team with the following: • To consult with N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources in developing MDC that encompass all requirements for siting, site prepara- tion, design, construction and maintenance of stormwater best management practices.
